The boys went surfing

Aileen’s wave, considered one of the biggest in Europe is situated in Liscannor Co.Clare. The Cliffs of Moher are in the foreground, and the Atlantic Ocean serves as a backdrop, making it one of the most alluring waves to surf in Irish waters.

Each Autumn and Winter the big swells roll in off the Atlantic drawing in a community of local surfers and visitors from around the country and worldwide, to ride the wave. They set out in hopes to catch the surf in this stunning part of the Irish landscape, absorbing the magical and mysterious nature that this piece of our cultural land heritage in the West has to offer.

Although these waves are not for the faint-hearted, courage and skill are rewarded with indeed something unique and exhilarating that is a privilege to capture.
